I COMPANY

In late October 1943, Japanese American soldiers in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team were ordered into the rugged Vosges Mountains in France.

Many of the soldiers had volunteered from concentration camps where their families had been imprisoned after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

The five-day running battle that ensued became known as “The Resuce of the Lost Battalion.”
